D. Dominick Lombardi is an artist, art writer and curator based in New York. His most recent exhibition was a group show titled Make It or Break It, held at C24 Gallery in Chelsea, NY, in the fall of 2024. The exhibition, curated by David C. Terry, featured the art of six noted artists/curators. A 45-year retrospective of his paintings, sculptures, mixed media kinetic art and drawings, which T. Michael Martin curated, traveled from the Clara M. Eagle Gallery at MSU in Western Kentucky in 2019 to the Marie Walsh Sharpe Gallery of Contemporary Art, Ent Center for the Arts, UCCS in Colorado Springs in 2021, concluding its run at the Dowd Gallery at SUNY Cortland, New York in February 2022. Some of his writing credits include the New Art Examiner (1997-98 & 2023-present), The Brooklyn Rail (2023-present), Two Coats of Paint (2023-present), ARTnews (1997), The New York Times (1998-2005), Juxtapoz (2002), Art in Asia, Seoul, S. Korea (2007-2009), Public Art and Ecology magazine, Beijing, China (2011-2012), Art Papers (2004), Sculpture magazine (1999-2007), The Huffington Post (2012-2018), Art and Antiques (2022), CultureCatch (2006-present), and dArt International magazine (2005-present). Lombardi’s next curatorial project “Multiverse” opens in February 2025 at the Hampden Gallery, UMASS Amherst. Lombardi is also working on an exhibition concerning humor in contemporary art, which will be held at the Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden, scheduled to open in the second half of 2025.
