Luis Felipe Vélez Franco is a curator, editor, cultural manager, and academic researcher specializing in aesthetics and philosophy of art. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Philosophy from the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia, with an emphasis on aesthetics and art theory (2012). He also earned a postgraduate specialization in curatorship and exhibition management in 2019. From 2013 to 2015, he pursued doctoral studies in Art and Architecture at the National University of Colombia.
He served as Director of Imago Magazin and as coordinator of the editorial committee of the Faculty of Visual and Applied Arts at Bellas Artes between 2016 and 2021, and, in 2022, coordinated the journal Papel Escena for the Faculty of Performing Arts. In 2012, he founded the editorial platform www.estonoescritica.com which focuses on art and culture. His research explores narratives of representation in contemporary art and the processes of experimentation in artistic creation.
