2025 Version
An Initiative of INES_Magazina

At INES_Magazina, we prioritize elevating the voices of artists who challenge and subvert dominant cultural narratives. On the Horizon: 2025’s Must-Watch Artists highlights the work of mid-career women artists and non-heteronormative creators. This initiative seeks to give these artists the visibility and recognition they deserve. Rooted in the values of intersectionality, decoloniality, and inclusivity, we aim to elevate artistic practices that resist colonial capitalist frameworks, offering a space for reimagining art and culture.

Through On the Horizon, we celebrate artists who actively reshape the future of art through exploration and innovation. Focusing on mid-career artists who embody diverse experiences, we spotlight artistic practices that push boundaries, provoke critical thought, and open new possibilities for interpretation and sensitivity.

The program showcases a curated selection of artists. The public can vote for their favorite, and the artist with the most votes will become the subject of a critical article written by one of INES_Magazina’s art critics. This article will amplify their work and ideas. This participatory process invites the audience into the conversation, allowing them to connect with the artists and their practices meaningfully.

We engage with art that challenges dominant cultural paradigms, making space for marginalized voices and histories. By doing so, we aim to foster a more inclusive and diverse art world that reflects our time’s social and political realities.

Through this initiative, we amplify the stories and practices of artists whose work embodies resistance, cultural innovation, and a continual reimagining of what art can be. Supporting these artists contributes to reshaping the narratives around art, culture, and identity, helping to create a world where all voices are heard and valued.

On the Horizon: 2025’s Must-Watch Artists celebrates those who redefine the future of art. We are proud to support their work in this ongoing cultural resistance and transformation journey.

INES_Magazina is an art criticism platform based in New York. We prioritize intersectional, decolonial, and transdisciplinary thinking. We see art criticism as a powerful tool for expanding analytical frameworks and enriching the understanding of contemporary art from multiple social, political, and cultural perspectives.

We firmly believe that art cannot exist separate from the contexts in which it is produced. Our mission is to create spaces for reflection that connect artistic practices with issues such as race, gender, class, and coloniality, understanding art as a field in constant dispute and transformation.

On the Horizon · Must-Watch Artists aims to promote the work of powerful artists, offering recognition and exposure to creators who demonstrate strength and commitment in their practice. We specifically focus on women and non-heteronormative artists in the mid-career stage, whose works open new possibilities for interpretation, sensitivity, and critical thought.
